Would you believe how many romantic, love-packed destinations there are around the world? If you’re looking for a magical spot to tell your loved one how you feel, we’ve hand-picked six of the best!

Galešnjak Island – Croatia

There are a fair few heart-shaped islands and reefs around the world, but Galešnjak Island, just off Croatia’s Turanj coast, is a spectacular and uninhabited favourite. It was first charted by Napoleon’s cartographer in the 19th century and today, it attracts many romance-seeking visitors. The island’s private owner has plans to turn it into a fully-fledged wedding destination, but nothing official has eventuated yet.

Time it best: In spring or summer, when the weather’s good for swimming.

7th Floor of the Terrass’’ Hotel – Paris

The Terrass’’ Hotel in Montmartre might only be 4-star rated, but its 7th-floor restaurant and rooftop deck boast panoramic views over Paris, including a pristine sight of the Eiffel Tower. This is a place that once welcomed artists like Dali and Renoir, and nearby you’ll find both the famed Sacré Coeur and the Moulin Rouge.

Time it best: At night, when the city lights are dazzling!

Bow Bridge – New York City

In the midst of New York’s Central Park, Bow Bridge sits right between Cherry Hill and the Ramble and was originally built in 1862. This is a wonderful and iconic spot away from the bustling city to confess your love (or make a proposal!), all while marvelling at the scenery. If you’re keen, you can also hire a rowboat and go for a romantic paddle in the waters below.

Time it best: In Autumn, with the leaves changing colours all around you.

Pool at the Tsitouras Collection Hotel – Santorini

You might want to save up for this one, but it’ll be worth it! The views from Greece’s Santorini Island are hard to pass up, and the Tsitouras Collection Hotel offers some of the best. The prime place to be is the Maria Callas terrace, where you can take a dip in the stunning pool and watch the sun go down over the water. It doesn’t get more romantic than this!

Time it best: During the shoulder seasons (May/June, September/October), if you want to save money and avoid the summer crowds.

The Sarojin – Thailand

The Sarojin Hotel on Thailand’s west coast is as romantic and luxurious as they come, and one of the best experiences here is the Private Dining offer. You can essentially choose any spot to dine with your partner (e.g. on a sand isle), but we recommend the Candlelit Jungle Waterfall. You’ll get to feast in front of a candle-lit waterfall, and afterwards, you can even take a dip in the waterfall pool.

Time it best: At night, when the weather’s warm and rainfall is unlikely.

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall – Iceland

Seljalandsfoss is one of the many famous waterfalls spread throughout Iceland, but it’s also a must because you can actually walk behind it! The waterfall itself stems from the volcanic glacier, Eyjafjallajökull, and drops 65-metres into the stream below. A small trail here takes you up into a small cave area behind the waterfall, and the views from here are one-of-a-kind! It’s a great spot to say “I love you” – but remember to bring your raincoat and keep in mind that during the day, the path does get a little crowded.

Time it best: In the Icelandic summer; the path behind the waterfall is generally closed in winter.
