InsureandGo is closely monitoring the escalating conflict in Israel and is aware of suspended routes to this region by a number of airlines.
Does our Policy give Coverage?
At InsureandGo we believe it is our role to assist our customers who are in distress in any way we can, despite the presence of war exclusions in our policies. Therefore, we will review all cases related to the events that occurred in Israel on 7th October 2023. Any claims for coverage under our policies will be adjudicated according to the terms and conditions of the policy you purchased.
The exclusions below are activated related to this event. For full details you should refer to the Product Disclosure Statement and Certificate of Insurance you received when you purchased your travel insurance.
We refer you to “GENERAL EXCLUSIONS” under ‘General exclusions apply to all sections of this policy.”
What you are not covered for
- Any claim arising out of war, civil war, invasion, insurrection, revolution, use of or threatened use of military power, usurpation of government or military power.
We also refer you to “In addition to General Exclusions, under Section A, you are not covered for:”
- Any terrorist act or any loss incurred as a result of any intentional use of military force or other intervention by a government or official authority to intercept, prevent, or mitigate any known or suspected terrorist act.

If you are looking to change your travel arrangements, we recommend you contact your travel agent or travel provider to discuss your options. Some travel providers may provide penalty free options to amend travel arrangements, contact them directly for details. In addition, for travellers with future travel itineraries involving Israel who are considering purchasing products on or after 12:00am (AEST) on 9th October 2023, please be advised that given the formal declaration of war on 8th October 2023, coverage under our policies may likely be excluded.
